Image
We are planning to go to this upcoming event & I will also post some history of the old Lagrange college site..there’s an old cemetery up there that we as teens would visit late nights to see if we could catch a glimpse of a spirit..it’s another creepy place to say the least..   HAUNTED HAYRIDES AT THE LAGRANGE COLLEGE SITE PARK 1491 LAGRANGE COLLEGE ROAD, NEAR WHITE OAK IN EAST  COLBERT COUNTY ALABAMA, LEIGHTON, ALABAMA SCHEDULED FOR EVERY SATURDAY IN OCTOBER BEGINNING AT 7PM.  $5.00 ADULTS AND CHILDREN UNDER 6 FREE.  PARKING AT THE FOOT OF THE MOUNTAIN AT THE OLD TABERNACLE SITE, YOU MAY WANT TO BRING YOUR FLASH LIGHT TO SEE HOW TO GET BACK TO YOUR CAR.  THE SITE, KNOWN AS ONE OF THE SCAREST PLACES TO VISIT IN ALABAMA, DON'T BE SURPRISED IF YOU ACTUALLY SEE A "REAL" GHOST APPEARING FROM THE WOODS AND DISAPPEARING AS QUICKLY AS THEY APPEARED TO FOLKS RIDING ON THE HAYRIDE.  YOU ARE ALLOWED TO SCREAM BUT, REMAIN SEATED AS THE TRACTOR TAKES YOU ON AN ADVENTURE THAT WI

Netflix’s Dahmer

Image
I’m currently binging this new series! So far I love it.. To me Evan Peters is eerily creepy with his acting & how similar his mannerisms are to that of Jeffery Dahmer.. it’s um disturbing. The first episode was really just wow! It got to me..especially the part where the cops bring Dahmers father in to tell him about his son..he asks “what exactly has my son done”? & then they proceed to name off all the things…”umm Mr. Dahmer your son had a head in his refrigerator “..  I’m currently on episode 5 so I’ll be writing more about my final thoughts on this show once I wrap it up …one last thing is that song they keep playing on there -  Please don’t go by KC & the sunshine band repeatedly played in this series gives me the chills! He didn’t want his company to leave him…so much so he drugs, kills, dismembers, eats them to “keep them close”… Chilling  I swear! 😆

Sloss Fright furnace shuts down Halloween production.

Although we only ever visited Sloss twice in its 22 years of hosting a haunted attraction I am glad to have been a part of it.. I hate to see it go & would’ve probably went to the Haunted attraction again soon or in the near future even though I believe when we went it was a terribly muddy rainy experience both times it seems.. but I didn’t even go for the haunted attraction! I went because the place was eerie and cool & this was the only way I knew to get close to it without  trespassing to explore(which I always wanted to do) the haunted attraction only took you through a portion of the site anyway.. I would’ve loved to have been able to climb up the stacks and explore the entirety of the old site. If your ever in Birmingham AL drive up close to it and take a gander & let your mind wander. How many deaths & or accidents really did happen in there during production years? How many sightings of ghosts were there really? Imagine the people slave driving to produce iron i

When it was cool haunted horror nights #2

A Nightmare on Elm Street This was the scariest movie of all to me when I was a young girl…. I wasnt really sure why…BUT After re-watching it  I feel pretty sure it’s the music…that eerie little music that plays throughout…ALSO let’s not forget the children jump roping while singing 1-2 Freddy’s coming for you, 3-4 better lock your door(why !? He comes in through your dream not your door) anyway 5-6 grab your crucifix, 7-8 better stay up late, 9-10 never sleep again….😓 I think those are right..I might also mention that for 1984 Freddy’s burned look is pretty creepy…!  written and directed by  Wes Craven and produced by  Robert Shaye . It is the first installment in the  A Nightmare on Elm Street  franchise  and stars  Heather Langenkamp ,  John Saxon ,  Ronee Blakley ,  Robert Englund  as  Freddy Krueger , [6] [7]  and  Johnny Depp in his film debut. Released Nov. 9 1984 Budget 1.1 mil  Box office 57 mil  A Nightmare on Elm Street [8]  was met with rave critical reviews and is consid

The Neverending Story - When It Was Cool - Episode 143

Karl and Tonya sit down to discuss The Neverending Story from 1984, as well as, the less talked about two sequels. Giant puppets, a child hero who shouts ever single line of dialogue, and an Empress who might be 30 or 13 I can't really tell. The first movie was a fun adventure and then it just got bad. Actually, who are we kidding, this movie holds up terribly and the flying dog dragon thing is really an acid trip. Check out this episode of the When It Was Cool Podcast

Waiting at the door

Image
I was just a pup when we first met, I loved you from the start, You picked me up and took me home and placed me in your heart.  Good times we had together, we shared all life could throw, but years passed all too quickly, my time had come to go. I know how much you miss me, I know your heart is sore, I see the tears that fall when I’m not waiting at the door.  You always did your best for me, your love was plain to see, for even though it broke your heart, you set my spirit free.  So please be brave without me, one day we’ll meet once more, for when you’re called to Heaven I’ll be waiting at the door.
